Basics / Re: A Study on Percent vs Stats: A guide to better AvA Garrisons
« on: December 14, 2013, 06:31:37 pm »
@Daza

Yes, the difference actually surprised me because Yniys, the full stats, seemed to be better in adventures and BOSS and Alliance challenges. But it can be explained:

At first momment the raise of Battle stats makes your SS independent of their weak equipment, helping to uplvl. As I have a mid-power keep it isnt difficult to uplvl them until 18 using common equipment or letting them naked (too many SSs get  me lazy). Notice that +100%Fight makes every uplvl 2 stats become 4 points when attacking (percentage used to give me as basis 3 - 3,8- as I have only recently upgraded my Keep Str) plus equiping, so increase on attack is clear, while % maths can be a mistery. But here it comes the thing: Full Stats are better BOSS challenges, my experience. Attacks are more consistent, constant average.

When it comes to AvA its difficult to experiment because we're not in a AvA, but go figure:

(a common SS, lvl 18, replaced and uplvled)

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)

If dead and replaced once = Str -1+2                  If dead and replaced once = Str - 1, %+1
If dead and replaced x5 = Str -5+10                    If dead and replaced x5 = Str-3, %+5
If dead and replaced to lvl 3 = Str-15+30            If dead and replaced to lvl 3 = Str-3, %+15

Made my point? On first AvA there was a setting that allowed SSs to be immediatly replaced (no 24h waiting) so alliances that were always under attacked explored it and had this as a strategy to strenghten their defenses. NOT SERFS disaproved it and did not explored it, believing it wasnt a fair gaming exploring that. But during last AvA it changed and I had 21 SSs killed, specially when it was that final change when WICSoBeware attackes us. Most of them I used to check and test defenses, but well I had the cooldown so it isnt ilegal, and yes I had SSs killed to lvl 2, but is not worth because you're obligated to chose a Stats and I use %.

Now on camps:

(a keep at 300Battle, +50% def/attack)
(a common SS, lvl 18, naked to make it easier in a Battle camp lvl 5)

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(33 + 300 + 100)(50% +101%) = 589                    (3 + 300 + 100)(50% + 116%) = 669

Imagine now that we equip him with +5 Battle + 10%Battle Def

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(38 + 300 + 100)(50% +111%) = 705                    (8 + 300 + 100)(50% + 126%) = 718

Imagine now that we get him naked again and equip with +30Battle

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(63 + 300 + 100)(50% +101%) = 699                    (33 + 300 + 100)(50% + 116%) = 719

(Imagine now that we he defends @camp that is same specialized as your SS.)

Imagine now that we equip him with +5 Battle + 10%Battle Def

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(38 + 300 + 100)(50% +111% + 10%) = 749         (8 + 300 + 100)(50% + 126% + 10%) = 759

Imagine now that we get him naked again and equip with +30Battle

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(63 + 300 + 100)(50% +101% + 10%) = 745         (33 + 300 + 100)(50% + 116% + 10%) = 762

Imagine now that this SS were killed to lvl 3 and uplvled to 18 again (Stats Str-15+30 / Scrapper Str-3, %+15)

Naked first:

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(33 + 15 + 300 + 100)(50% +101%) = 676             (0 + 300 + 100)(50% + 116% + 15%) = 724

Imagine now that we equip him with +5 Battle + 10%Battle Def

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(38 + 15 + 300 + 100)(50% +111%) = 729              (5 + 300 + 100)(50% + 126% + 15%) = 774

Imagine now that we get him naked again and equip with +30Battle

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(63 + 15 + 300 + 100)(50% +101%) = 721              (30 + 300 + 100)(50% + 116% + 15%) = 778

Well I can see a couple of  interesting things, so just out of curiosity lets make it with a lvl 10 camp (200battle):

Imagine now that we equip him with +5 Battle + 10%Battle Def

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(38 + 300 + 200)(50% +111%) = 866                    (8 + 300 + 200)(50% + 126%) = 894

Imagine now that we get him naked again and equip with +30Battle

Stats SS                       x                        "Scrapper" (% SS)
(63 + 300 + 200)(50% +101%) = 850                    (33 + 300 + 200)(50% + 116%) = 885

So I tried to use acceptable stats on this, sth a lvl 100~200 player is capable to achieve. Results in bold are the more effective for healthy SS and camp, on every scenarium bloc.

So, basic thing: the Stats x Percentage is not a straight line, but a curved one. If someone is up to do that, have my blessing but i'm a noob on such programs. So in case of low lvl camp (5) it was better to equip a Scraper with mid-stats equipment. In case of higher lvl camp (10) It was better using a scrapper with percentage equipment.

Well game is much more complex than that and you have to keep an eye on equipments. The arrange make it different.

Maths is not exactly correct because I did it a faster way, but difference is not really expresive. It would be good if you guys do such accounts too in your current SS, and current equipments! Its not necessary to try all possibilities, just try high Stats equipments, High def% equipments and maybe mix them. Please let us know the results so we have a more solid basis to discuss and propose players how to defend camps.

The Math I used here was:

(SS stats + Equipment Stats + Keep Stats + Camp Stats)x(SS % + Equipment % + Keep % + Camp % + 100%)

This is the fast and easy way to calculate, I think, but I'm not sure its the way GoTA works. So if you'd like to try this other:

Keep stats + SS stats + Equipment Stats + Camp stats + (keep stats x keep %) + (Keep stats x SS %) + (keep stats x Equipment %) + (Keep stats x camp%) + (SS stats x SS %) + (SS stats x equipment %) + (SS stats x Camp %) + (Equipment stats x equipment %) + (Equipment stats x Camp %) + (camp stats x camp %)

Well I think its prob about the same result. You guys tell me please, i'm in Human Sciences and thats enough maths for a hole weekend.

Please share!

Yey Yey finally got 2 different build SSs,

- My keep 430battle 114% fight
- one full Stats other full percentage,
- both lvl 19,
- same seal (bs: +1battle +1% fight att/def).
- once naked, once same equip (79 + 13%)

And one hybrid SS:

- 30 + 12 Battle / 13%Fight
- no seal
- lvl 20
- once naked, once same equip (79 + 13%)

Results attached. For comparison.

@Jonos

The "well-balanced" garrison is interesting, but should be thought in group. I'm always garrisoning and noticed that my Full Battle SS was also set to defend Spy, in wich he sucks. Period. So a more balanced SS is better to defend different attacks, but I noticed that oce i did it, more attacks came to my SS and then he got hurt more often. I have Nettle Poutlice for that, but at times they die. So i tried another way: as usually Winnie's SS defend Battle because they're really good at that, I started to mix-up Swindle and Sabo defenses, and somehow it worked pretty good! See the attachment. I have tons of those. They not only are good swindle and sabo defenders, but - I think - as I have good Fight % def on my keep (103%) he was set to defend Fight too, and succesfull defenses arround 70% on that. Just an idea.

Oh but when i equiped him with Phalanx (Battle def only) it was a mess and he defended more Battle attacks and well almost died faster.

So... its an idea.

Now on adventures,

Right now my Keep is: 427 Battle, 84% Harass atq/def.

Mag Dayne: he's lvl 18 rare, 6+2 Battle training and +28 Battle from equipments. 14% training harass (no idea why he isnt 16%) + 12% harass from equipments. Attacking on adventure = 1014.

I changed equipments to have same Str and no additional  %. His attack on adventures = 917.

So 97 str difference per 16 percent points.

If i had used those 16 pts in Str it would make 32str.

Using data above and 12% from equipments, it would be: 427 + 36 + 32 * 1,96 = 970

Using data above with no % equipments, it would be: 427 + 36+ 32 * 1,84 = 910

So good comparison is:

"Scrrapper" ~ 1014
  "Full Str"   ~  970

BUT, if I use the same math to first scenarium, it is 427 + 36 * 2,10 = 972. Ohhh it is still better than 970, but why isnt my maths calculating 1014? Is there some hidden bonus??? I dont know mathss???????

Please help!!!!!!!

Hey nice post! There's sth that was in my mind not to change from "str" to "%" trainning, but because I noticed most players have High Str SSs and I from begginig prefered raising %, so it was a difficult task. Only this month that I noticed that for Challenges and PtP full Str SSs are better. Now my keep has high %, so I am training peerless like that, but only three. i still prefer % SSs.

I'm sendinga pic of my SS when attacking on AvA.

My keep was about 400 Battle, 80% Harass when attacking. Neck camp was Harass, lvl 16.

Wild Shierle Swann: She's lvl 22 peerless, 30+2 Battle training and +51 Battle from equipments. 20% training harass + 21% harass from equipments (never understand why its "31%" written there, may exist a limit? doesnt make sense). And her attack from Neck = 2248.

As i didnt have a full str to compare i cannot say much, but if someone else has, please share.

Now I have more doubts and I'm starting to think that somehow % is really wrong. I'll check and say later.

BTW, BOSS and challenges are a bit crazy: a full Str works better than a "Scrappers".

And yes, garrison common and in my case Scrappers too. They're pretty good on that.

Basics / Re: equiping Items?
« on: December 06, 2013, 09:41:15 am »
Hmmm I think I know what you meant. "storage" isnt it?

To check your equips, go to a Sworn Sword (SS) and unequip what he/she has. Then click to equip again and there you will see everything you have of that type (hand, body or unit) and there will be no need to sell your items.

Another way is going to "Shop", chosing "Sell an item" and look arround.

If its not there try to refresh the page. At times it takes time until it appears on your inventory.

It helps?

Good luck!

Basics / Re: War with winter is coming so beware
« on: December 05, 2013, 07:07:11 pm »
Sorry if it ot confused Marcellae!

First, dont donate your silver to heal camps, we have friends that send aids and we are requesting one alliance to heal one camp.

Second, message of the day was written by Winnie and yes you should follow her advice. I went to sleep before her and I dont know what was happening but for sure she had a clear idea about it.

Third, my point concerns HIGHER LEVEL players. I mean, I have nothing else to do with my silver, so Hire Common SS and equip them and let them die is not any sacrifice for me. But it probably is a big sacrifice for lower lvl players. So if you think you have more silver than you can use, hire common SS and garrison them, but its 100% certain that they will be dead by the end of the day.

Oh and yes there's a special reward for North region that is "Defender of the North", gained based on the number of succesfull defenses on North. This reward is really difficult to plan because we don't know how many defenses we have, nor the other alliances. But its the closest we have to gain a reward as we cannot reach Wolves Rule the North on VPS.

Basics / Re: War with winter is coming so beware

Makes sense. It wont chance anything because its almost ending the AvA, but that we will have more denfenses to try special reward in North. Just keep farming on them, so.

Players who are higher lvl and have silver may hire common SS, equip and garrison them. I've doing that and still can def for a couple of days. Though had about 10 SS killed. All replaced.

Basics / Re: 3rd phase of the AvA war strategy
« on: December 04, 2013, 04:01:25 am »
Hi Jaqen/Warg!

Thanks again for you initiave! It's always good to know we can share our experiences here on the forum and talk about any subject.

I like the way you guided strategy: looking for a possible reward following the same strategy from begiining to the ending of AvA. I'd like to post sth about that after this first post.

So I'd like to get your (I mean, everybody) attention to the two-region focus.

In the first AvA we built camps in lots of regions, but experience lead us to concentrate our efforts in two regions the next phase. Good move. At the beggining of Harvest AvA I questioned if it was the better strategy to have two regions instead of one. I made my point and others made theirs, so decision was to keep on upgrading both North and Iron Islands. I respected that but when we had about 10 days of AvA signs of difficult on contribution for camp upgrade showed up.

So now I'd like to make my point on the same matter but with more experience.

So here we go: two major issues that are affected when we have two regions on focus:

- Items for upgrading camps;

From AvA Owl Moon Phase to AvA Harvest Phase we noticed that it requires lots of items to upgrade and that Battle camps (Fight, Harass, Aid) shares the same itens required except of War Tokens (Spoils); same to Trade and Intrigue camps. So you may have noticed that this time we did Battle, Trade and Intrigue camps at the same region. So to hurry/boost camps upgrade. And that worked. On Owl Moon Phase end our bigger camp was lvl 11, now due to strategy and about 40 more players contributing on AvA, we already have a lvl 16 camp!

But camps on different regions still disputing resources. Let me show an example: to upgrade to lvl 5, 6 and 7, respectively, needs 50, 100 and 150 militia/traders/eavesdropper (depending on camp type). When it comes to lvl 8 its not needed anymore so players go to our second region and donate. When we finally had upgraded to lvl 9 we had about 150 militia/trader/eavesdropper on our other region, delaying camp upgrade that required 250 of those units!!!

And when it's about higher lvl camps it becomes worse: we have resources built dispute. Battle, Trade, Intrigue resources are made at the same Building. One example you probably noticed is Siege Works, that must keep producing from lvl 8 to lvl 20.

So what about camp upgrade? Is it really necessary? Yes, camp upgrade make region stronger. Not only Speciality %% rises but also Strengh given to camp upgraded and bonus given to other camps on the same region. This way I could observe players recently reincarnated performing actions and winning easily, though their keep was still weak. It streghtens our defenses and boosts when sending SSs out. And there's more: well, as already shown in another post, VPS gained on each action grows constantly when camps are upgraded. So imagine we are farming steal spoils: if we perform it from a lvl 8 camp it will give 90 vps, right? If performed from a lvl 12 camp it will give 130, check? Now imagine that a single player performs 100 steal victories in 2 days. The difference if she/he choses lvl 8 or lvl 12 camp is 4,000 VPS. A single player can make a difference of 4,000 vps in only two days depending on how upgraded they are! And it doesnt change if camp is damaged, same as Special reward percentage.

That lead us to the second point:

- Actions performed by players (SSs sent).

To show how impressive it is, right now we are about 3,710,000 VPS overall. 3,415,000 VPS on North. About 1,100,000 VPS are provided by Neck, TS and WK camps together. So where do the others 2,315,000 vps come from? Well, from players action! Most of them from attacks and a little bit from succesfull defenses. So we can think that about 67% comes from players action/SSs sent out! And the trend is to this % grows even more on final days!

So far that's my point: whatever we do, we focus on one single reward, with a clear and solo strategy. ANf if not wrong it fits a solo region.

I'll post more considerations about AvA strategy tomorrow because it's late here and I'm tired. I promise I'll make it worth.

Thanks again, I'm opened to discuss any matters,

G'night peoples!

Basics / Re: AvA advice
« on: November 12, 2013, 05:49:27 am »
Well, my 3a.m-English lost some of the words you wrote but I can understand what you said.

Its seems a good plan for me. You can spam on non-harming actions and truely attack from our bigger camps. It will work.

Answering your main (and bold) question: yes, it adds % to you attacking or defending SS, but only on that camp specialty action. I mean, our Neck is Harass skilled so when you harass from there (which means you are attacking other Alliance's Neck) you will have that bonus.

I dont know if you have noticed but when attacking on AvA your SS automatically appears with a higher strength than usual (which you can see on adventures, ie) and after you click "Go!" it is calculated again based on bonus. At times my SSs can even double their str after I click Go. This is an effect of camp boost if action is the same as camp specialty.

I hope I could write it clearly. If not, I wont be upset by re-writing or asking others help. The point is that we can comunicate.

Good luck! And tell us about your experience on that! :)
